When asking what advice they'd give to other female entrepreneurs and business beginners they agreed that getting started is the biggest key- Just Start, YOU CAN DO IT! The initial beginning truly is the hardest part, but getting over that hurdle will open the door to so much more...

"Just create something & learn as you go. It won’t be perfect and we can promise you may look back and laugh...or cringe at your first efforts. :) But do it anyway. Take one step at a time. Don't worry about the end goal and how you will get there. Just know where you want to go and take one step each day. Before you know it, you'll have accomplished a great deal. Don't be afraid to learn, take chances or get advice. When you hit a wall and need help, ask. We got to a place that if we didn't team up with people who knew more than us, we wouldn't be able to grow. Know when you hit that wall and get the help you need. We've been amazed with the people in our lives willing to help and support us. Also, don't give up and you may want to some days. It takes a lot of work so just keep going. Some days are awesome & you believe you can be successful. Other days, even seasons, you might question why you keep going. But if you love it, don't give up. Don’t look at setbacks as failures. Remain curious. Then you can say, “Well, that didn’t work. I wonder if I can try a different way.” -Beth and Greer, The Local Lense

THE LOVERS, THE DREAMERS...AND ME. Yep. That's about right. This phrase sums me up in oh so few words.  I'm a Georgia peach who loves family, friends and manners. I grew up on a chicken farm in rural Georgia....this is truth, my friends. Chewy candy will be my ultimate demise. My athletic frame leaves clothes a bit tricky to find. I love to laugh, talk trash on the basketball court, take naps on Sunday afternoons, and always kiss my new hubby goodnight. I love hard, play hard, cry at movies hard and just might be the silliest girl you know. And you ain't got nothing on my version of Bonnie Raitt's "Something to Talk About." Oh yes! And I'm a host. I love the movie business and can't get enough tv. I've lived it, as an actress, and now I love to talk about it.  I also do commercial work, hosting and reporting for various companies and shows nationwide.  If you like feisty, ethnically ambiguous, southern girls with manners...you've made it to the right site. Hang out with me a while. With love,  Beth

This week's female entrepreneur feature goes to Atlanta's own dynamic duo, Beth Keener and Greer Howard, developers behind The Local LenseNot only are these two their own "lady bosses" they've each individually managed to achieve professional acting and hosting careers.

The two met during a hosting audition callback, where they were two of the three called back, neither Beth or Greer booked the job, but they gained a really cool friendship. In 2013, they both began meeting monthly to encourage, challenge, and keep each other accountable with work and goals. After a solid two years of religious meetings and working together on a project for someone they were unhappy with, something clicked and the two decided to join forces, creating content and hosting together-as a team. Beth had already developed her own blogging platform in 2013 that featured happenings around town, so by 2014 both Beth and Greer expanded on that idea leading to the development of the now brand- The Local Lense.  “Why keep flying solo when we can be an united front and do this together,” was the thought shared behind their partnership and from the looks of it-They're going places!

"..It represents creating something with our own hands. Something we weren't sure we could pull off but keep making great strides everyday. It’s fun, conversational and positive; all things we very much believe" -Beth and Greer, The Local Lense

What's next?

The ladies of The Local Lense are currently working on a pitch reel to help sell their show on-air with an ultimate goal of a national television show. "Entertainment is right here in Atlanta and we want to be the ones to bring it to the masses. Moreover, we want to provide entertainment coverage that is friendly, positive, and conversational. We want our audience to be brought into the friendship we share and truly feel like an active voice in our  show." -Beth and Greer, The Local Lense

One word to sum up this interview- TEAMWORK- clearly makes the dream work. I feel honored and inspired to say I interviewed these two incredible "lady bosses" and I am excited to watch their brand blossom.  Stay tuned for more female entrepreneur features later this month!
